Mandatory inspections are done at each stage and the final approval documents are issued to you.

Local was established in 2021 by founding partner Sam Benchick. Every associate is a part owner of the business. The person who answers your questions is the person assessing your application.
Our certifiers have worked inside private practice and alongside local government, so we know how councils read an application and what they need to see before they say yes.

What does a building certifier actually do?
A certifier is a licensed professional who assesses building plans against the National Construction Code, carries out the mandatory inspections during construction and issues the approval documents. In Queensland, most building work needs a private certifier rather than the council.
Do I talk to the council or to you?
For most building approvals you deal with us directly. We lodge the required notifications with council on your behalf. If council has already contacted you about unapproved work, call us first so you understand your options before you respond.
How much does certification cost?
